About Me

I hold a BA in Information Systems, Film and Television, ​Media and Writing, from the University of Cape Town, along ​with a BA (Hons) in Digital Arts, specializing in advanced ​Interactive Media (VR & AR) from the University of ​Witwatersrand. I recently completed the Future Managers ​Development Programme at Stellenbosch University ​Business School.

I combine media and technology to create user-friendly ​systems accessible to everyone, including those from rural ​backgrounds or with literacy challenges. These systems are ​gateways to new opportunities, and I aim to use technology ​to drive change in South Africa.

Work Experience

At Media24, I worked across multiple platforms including News24, Netwerk24, ​SNL24, and Landbou. I specialized in web design, web and app development ​(using React Native), as well as digital advertising, leveraging Google Ads, ​programmatic advertising, and campaign optimization. My skills in data analysis, ​using Excel and Google Analytics, were key in interpreting performance ​metrics. I also have strong technical expertise in ad servers, DSPs, SSPs, ​troubleshooting, and JavaScript. Effective communication and problem-​solving, including client-facing interactions and strategic thinking, were critical ​in optimizing performance and resolving issues.

Work Experience

As a Full Stack Software Engineer at MultiChoice Group, I developed an ​internal tool for managing ad bookings across DSTV platforms, integrating APIs ​like Landmark and Voiro to streamline processes. I created responsive ​interfaces using React.js and AG Grid, built scalable backend services with ​Spring Boot and Gunicorn, and ensured data integrity with MySQL (RDS ​Aurora). I also conducted testing with Jest, JUnit, and Postman, and also ​assisted in PowerBI testing for regional invoices. In parallel, as DSTV Media ​Sales CSI Project Lead, I spearheaded fundraising initiatives for orphanages ​and cancer support, aligning CSI efforts with DSTV’s brand goals and fostering ​strategic partnerships to broaden impact.

In 2024, I proudly represented South Africa in ​China, selected by Huawei to compete in Cloud ​Computing, 5G, LTE, AI, and Machine Learning.
